Currently residing in Los Angeles, Jennifer Moore takes great liberty interpreting while preserving the integrity of the Great American Songbook. Her smart takes on favorites by Irving Berlin, Dorothy Fields, George & Ira Gershwin, Cole Porter have a whispered, jazzy, sultry sense of phrasing and time. She swings Jobim in Portuguese and when she swings a lyric in English you sure do believe it! “When a good night of performing happens,” says acclaimed song stylist Jennifer Moore, “it feels like an incredible workout for the heart and soul.”
As a musician, Jennifer studied commercial music performance at California State University Long Beach under the direction of jazz arranger John Prince (Johnny Carson Show), noted jazz vocalist Michele Weir, top call studio trumpeter Charley Davis (Oscars/Grammy’s), jazz improviser Ron Stout (Woody Herman), jazz flugelhorn /vocalist the late Stacy Rowles, RIP.
As a dancer Jennifer has trained under the direction of Las Vegas show choreographer Bart Doerfler, master choreographer/educator Zahra Zuhair and Princess Farhana, bulesque.
Jennifer Moore has graced stages all over the world performing European Street Fairs, private functions in Germany, Holland & Amsterdam, the Second Annual Women’s Jazz Festival in Tokyo, Japan and has accompanied original rock bands at the Key Club on the Sunset Strip, the Roxy in Beverly Hills and
noted jazz spot LaVe'Lee in Studio City.
Ms. Moore distinguishes herself in solo settings from the Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip opening for Joe Rogan of NBC’s Fear Factor to sold out art show performances at the Electric Lodge in Venice, cocktail receptions for Madame Shostakovich at the Cal States Art Gallery in Long Beach and CBS Studios in Studio City, variety shows at the Ivar Theater in Hollywood, the
Les Deux, chic cabarets in the Cinnegrill at the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel to citywide festivals in Palm Springs.
Jennifer has worked under the direction of Forest Whitaker in a MTV music video for the popular rap group MC & the
Supremes and has produced her own cable television show at Time Warner Cable entitled "It's the Jazz Baby".
Jennifer coordinates and is a trained theater coach of the social outreach program, “The Director’s Chair,” a program that intervenes with at-risk youth by teaching them to research, write, produce, direct and perform their own plays positively building self-esteem, confidence and social interaction skills.
